Dear Friend,

Last month, the League received one of the greatest honors an organization like ours could receive. One of our most prominent allies, the Alliance Defending Freedom, recognized us with the Ally of the Year award. It was truly humbling for Terri and me to accept this award on behalf of our entire team at the ADF annual summit. This prestigious award is a testament to the faithfulness and generosity of ministry partners like you, who have been instrumental in reestablishing the League as a positive influence in Maine.

We praise the Lord for blessing our efforts in organizing and promoting the Why Now the Church? conferences held on July 29 and 30. Over 500 people attended these events, jam-packed with inspirational and instructional material regarding Biblical citizenship. We pray the participants will return to their churches motivated and equipped to impact their communities. Click here to see pictures from the conferences.

I am very excited to announce a new partnership that I believe addresses one of the questions most often asked of me, “How can we get Christians to vote and engage civically?” The Christian Civic League is partnering with Christians Engaged to combine their proven technical tools and knowledge with our local and state connections. This approach is so simple it is almost offensive, yet it has already proven highly effective on a large scale in other states. We will use our email and social media platforms to encourage Christians to pledge to pray, vote, and engage. The combination of follow-up reminders and tremendous resources from Christians Engaged makes this program uniquely effective.

There are also opportunities for churches to partner with and promote Christians Engaged which we believe will be a critical short-term and long-term strategy for our Community Impact Teams. These resources include online classes for Biblical worldview, civic engagement, Biblical justice, economics, and other relevant topics. There is also a program to lead a young adult ministry based on Biblical civic engagement. We will be reaching out directly to pastors regarding these potential ministry partnerships.

Last month, we launched our Pews to the Polls campaign. We set a goal of $150,000 for:

-research, production, promotion, and distribution of our voter guides
-identifying, training, and mobilizing Christian activists
-creating and executing get-out-the-vote strategies.
-supporting pro-life, pro-family candidates

July was a rare low financial month for us. Upfront expenditures above our non-campaign budget were high (approximately $80,000 for voter guide development and purchasing social media ad space). We are now less than 90 days from Election Day. Now is the time to make your donation to Pews the Polls. Ensure our team has the resources to work with our allies here in Maine to positively influence this critical election cycle for our state and country. Help Maine become a state where God is honored, religious freedom, families thrive, and life is cherished.
