He is not here; he is risen, just as he said
Dear Friend,
As Christians all over the world prepare to celebrate Easter, we do so in some of the most uncertain and unfamiliar circumstances many of us have experienced. We are uncertain if we can gather together to worship corporately. We are uncertain of our finances. We might be unfamiliar with the technology necessary to stay connected with family and flock. We are unfamiliar with shortages of essential supplies. We are uncertain if loved ones, neighbors, and fellow citizens will survive the threat of this virus.
Of this we are certain: Jesus Christ gave His life on the cross and three days later rose from the grave victorious over death and sin, empowering the Church as His agent of hope and declaring the gates of hell will not prevail against it.
The League is not the agent of hope. You won’t find nonprofits like the League in the Bible – – prophets, yes – – nonprofits, no. The League desires to be a reliable and inspirational resource to the Church. With the legislature suspended, we can now focus, more than ever, on your needs during this challenge and great opportunity for the Church to shine.
At cclmaine.org, our Coronavirus Resources page has information related to ministries, businesses, travel, medical treatment, updates from our governor, and so much more. In addition to this page, our policy director, Mike McClellan, and I want to be direct resources, especially to church and ministry leaders. If you have legal questions or other matters relating to the pandemic, do not hesitate to reach out to us. If we don’t know the answer immediately, we will do our best to find what you need through our state and national partners.

We do not know when the legislature will reconvene, so we are concentrating our efforts on the November elections by preparing our voter guides and planning our campaign strategies. I hope to launch our Pews to the Polls campaign next month. Each election year, we ask churches to take a God and Country Offering to help us defray the cost of our voter guides. Click Here and fill out the form if you plan on participating in an offering in late June or early July.
None of us can predict how this pandemic will negatively impact ministries, businesses, and households. What we do know is God will provide. Please do not give to the League at the expense of your family or your church. We are praying that the Lord will sustain you, and we know you are praying for us as well.
I believe the Church will rise up and meet the challenges we face. My prayer is the League will be a valuable partner as we co-labor to see our state be a place where God is honored, religious freedom flourishes, families thrive, and life is cherished.
