Dear Friend,

The Bible tells us God became flesh and dwelt among us to eventually die as the perfect sacrificial lamb. Jesus was born into this world to bear witness to the truth that He is the only hope of man being reconciled to God. The Christmas story is offensive, proclaiming the baby in the manger and the resurrected Lord is the exclusive remedy for our sin.

Bringing a Biblical perspective to public policy is our mission statement. We don’t advocate for our opinions, traditions, or social media trends when it comes to topics like human sexuality, the sanctity of human life, and religious freedom – no – we stand on the authority of God’s Word.

Our goal is not to condemn, but to create conflicts against the lies of the enemy who desires to deceive, steel, and destroy. As we proclaim God’s Word, (whether welcomed or not) we pray men will be drawn to the source of truth

(II Timothy 2:24-26).

Thanks to all of you who contributed to the success of our Annual Fall Events. We had great attendance, inspiring content, and a very positive response in giving. A special thanks to our anonymous donor who matched all pledges and gifts up to $10,000. If you would like to watch one of our events, click here to watch the Bangor event.

We promoted our Culture Impact Teams [CIT] at our Annual Fall Events. Would you consider starting a CIT ministry at your church? We rely on CIT’s to notify their church family to contact their elected officials, attend CCL events, and engage the culture on issues like the sanctity of human life, religious freedom, and other Biblical values. Call Mike McClellan (329-6148) or email (policy@cclmaine.org) to get more information about the Culture Impact Teams.

Last year, the board and I made the decision to take a step of faith and hire an Outreach Director. We thank God Tristan Starbird answered the call to direct our Better Work job fairs and our Church Ambassador Network [CAN].

As excited as we are about offering the dignity of work to recovering addicts and felons through the local church, we have not witnessed the financial support we expected to fund this program. We need churches and individuals to invest and partner with us.

Tristan is launching our Church Ambassador Network this legislative session. Imagine the halls of our Capitol with a consistent presence of Bible-believing pastors praying for their leaders and establishing meaningful relationships with them. Again, we need churches and individuals to sacrificially commit to the Church Ambassador Network.

The last few years, we have raised around $40,000 for our end-of-year campaigns. This year, we need to raise between $80,000 and $100,000 for the Christian Education League which funds our Outreach efforts. I am praying for a matching gift of $50,000 so every tax-deductible gift to the Christian Education League between now and December 31st will be doubled. Will you join me in praying about your personal commitment to this need, and please pray that God will raise up a major donor to match our efforts?
My prayer for you is a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. May the Lord use the CCL and CEL in 2020 to see Maine become a state where God is honored, religious freedom flourishes, families thrive, and life is cherished.
