Dear Friend,
In our last legislative session, Maine passed two bills, making our state one of the most liberal when it comes to abortion and transgender policies. LD 1619 allows late-term abortions for any reason, and LD 227 will enable minors to access permanent transgender medical treatment without parental consent. Both horrendous laws were passed with just two vote margins.
As ingrained as the numbers 1619 and 227 are in our minds, the number 209 also stands out. That number, 209, is the margin of victory for two pro-abortion legislators who barely edged out two pro-life candidates. Just think, if 209 Christian voters had gone to the polls rather than sitting out the last election, Maine would have been spared these awful pieces of legislation.
We can’t let that happen again. The League is doing everything it can to ensure Christians will be stewards with their voices and vote in 2024. That’s what our Pews to the Polls campaign is all about by:
*providing non-partisan voter guides for every federal and state election
*promoting our list of endorsed federal and state candidates
*promoting our Taking the Pledge campaign by partnering with Christians Engaged
*recruiting and connecting volunteers for pro-life candidates with our VOL24 survey
*identifying and inspiring low-propensity, pro-life voters via social media, texting, phone calls,
and IP strategies
This is a huge undertaking, and our goal is $150,000 to accomplish it fully. Have you donated to our Pews to the Polls campaign yet? Our allies’ excellent work won’t come to fruition unless the League has the financial resources needed to inform and inspire Maine pro-life voters.

I know it sounds like the thing to say, but I hope you are praying for the League. Our team’s most hectic (and stressful) season is the month before an election. We desire to be a positive influence for the Gospel, and that will not happen without your prayer support. The League has not been called to influence the entire state. Our lane is informing and inspiring God’s people. Let us continue striving to see Maine become a state where God is honored, religious freedom flourishes, families thrive, and life is cherished.
